Terris
The Terris people have been something of an oddity since the origin. They are unique in the fact they have managed to retain a large portion of their cultural identity from before the Origin, and also in the fact that they seem to be the source of Feruchemy.
Terris is a mountainous, mostly agricultural nation, known for the produce of its sheep and goats. The Terris people lag somewhat behind the rest of the world in technological sophistication; you are more likely to see a Terris man armed with a sword or a spear than a gun, for example. They are a hardy, hardworking people. They keep many secrets from outsiders, particularly regarding Feruchemy. Almost everyone with Feruchemy can trace their ancestry back to Terris at some level, and all full Feruchemists who have appeared since the Day of Return have been from Terris.
Terris is an oligarchy, ruled by a ground of leaders called the Synod. Since the Day of Return, the Terris people have been trying to fill the Synod with full Feruchemists.
Most people of Terris who leave the homeland go into the cities to work as servants- in fact, the "Terrisian Ideal" is considered to be the height of what is proper for servants. (Note that only outsiders use the word "Terrisian"- a person from Terris would say "Terris Ideal").
Terrisians usually follow the Path for their religion, with the difference that they believe Harmony was once a man of Terris, a prophesied Hero of Ages. This belief is considered heresy by orthodox Pathians.
Terris is one of the few areas that would not be under the jurisdiction of the Lord Mistborn, should one be found...
