Marianne, or Pin as she calls herself, is a woman in a man's world, hiding her powers and selling steampowered products to commercial companies. Along the way she pays back the Synod for her education by remembering and writing down what she learns about the movers & shakers of the land, looking for secrets to send back along the way. On the constant move, she strives to do a man's job and succeeds, but only by ignoring man of a woman's goals.
